Disclaimer: Yes, I know I'm going to hell.

Back in March of 2003, my close, personal friend Philip and I went to Roma, Italy for a few days. While we were there, we encountered rude Italians, exhorbitantly expensive Cokes, and perhaps most sacrilegious of all... Pope Merchandise.

We saw them at one of the shops that sold things such as tiny replicas of the Coliseum covered in aqua coloured glitter and hidden eye pictures of the Virgin Mary. They were even tackier than the Princess Diana head postcards we'd seen in London. Philip and I ended up standing at the front of the shop laughing for five minutes, unable to control ourselves or breathe. I had to buy them. And now I share my amusement with you.

Arrgh, it's PopeZilla! He's come to avenge Jesus' death!

In case you were wondering whether or not the Pope is really a cardboard cutout, this should clear everything up for you. The angle he's at is just unnatural.

Seriously, the Photoshop job (if they even used something as sophistimacated as Photoshop) on this is just horrid. It makes me want to cry. The people on b3ta could do better.

Best. Postcard. EVER.

The image in the top left hand corner is the best. It reminds me of my dad, sitting in his recliner, about to doze off from watching too much Monday Night Football. "Can't you leave me alone for five minutes?" it looks like he's saying.

Seriously, who doesn't love Papa? :D

Bless you, my child.
