I have owned the domain of mayonessa.com since early May, 2000. Over the course of the first few years I've owned it (2000 - early 2003), mayonessa.com was a holding page. Due to lack of content (and pure laziness on my part), it kind of had to be. Well, it also didn't help that I really liked my holding pages. At one point I was seeing all three of them at one time and created a confusing love triangle that was solved with a good old fashioned game of Russian Roulette. As you can see... I won.

So I want to archive them. I can't just let them rest in peace, I'm too cruel for that. So I'm putting them in the stocks, and you can point and laugh, and wonder where it all went wrong. *single tear slides down cheek*

Anyway, besides narcissism, I thought it might be nice to put this up to show everyone mayonessa.com's roots. It's good to know where you come from. Mayonessa.com no longer has to feel like she doesn't know her people.

Please note that absolutely none of the links on these holding pages are supposed to work. If they do, there's something wrong. See, this is a 3rd dimension of the WWW, and none of the links from the 1st or 2nd dimension actually work in the 3rd. I could explain all of it to you, but it would probably make your head explode. It's some whacked shit in the space-time continuum.

*coughs loudly, dons a professor-esque voice* Originally, mayonessa.com was just a small personal page known as "Zero." Zero started on my personal Netcom pages (back when I was on dialup) and was later shifted to xoom.com when they still existed. Honestly, I don't know why I took Zero down, but I decided it would stay down until I finished mayonessa.com. So, in lieu of the switchover, this page was up at xoom. Note the blackness.

The second holding page was the first one up at mayonessa.com. It had three links to my friend's websites, with words in the background. Unfortunately, I lost the second page in an abortion.

Moment of silence for the fallen holding page
...

Holding Page the Third was a shift from the first page. I put up a bit of content and hoped it would tide the fuckers who kept coming to the page over til I got myself in gear to finish the site. Not wanting to stray from my wording-in-the-background motif, I utilised it until it bled and died.

Fourth incarnation, Zombo style. I decided to change my holding page when I came up with a new launch date (May 8, 2002 if I remember right), and I was heavily inspired by Zombo.com. The only limit was myself!

I was going to do a voice bit with it, but never got around to it.

That's it, class. The test will be on Tuesday. Bring a number two pencil with you, or you'll be marked off.

Note to self: This is boring. Don't drink before working on your page next time. At least, not so heavily...
